We are looking for a passionate and skilled Cook to join our kitchen team. This is a casual position with the genuine opportunity to transition into a full-time role for the right candidate who demonstrates passion, reliability, and a great fit for our team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, with a focus on Italian and pizza-based cuisine.
- Ensure the preparation and presentation of all dishes is of a consistently high standard and aligns with Venice’s creative direction.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in full compliance with food safety and WHS regulations.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth, efficient service delivery.
- Perform efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen environment.
- Assist with stock management, mise en place, and kitchen organisation as directed by the Head Chef.
- Contribute positively to team culture and support a productive kitchen environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen – this is a must!
- Experience with Italian cuisine or pizza-based menus is highly regarded.
- Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen safety, and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure during high-volume service periods.
- Passion for food, creativity in cooking, and a keen eye for detail and presentation.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Availability to work a rotating roster Tuesday to Sunday.
